Duffy + Partners Earns Three Mentions on PA Law's Largest Awards List

(Philadelphia,PA) The law firm of Duffy + Partners scored three mentions on the 2008 PaLAW "Largest Awards & Settlements" list, an annual year-end publication of the Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly newspapers.

The cases, ranking #16, 30 and 46 on the list, reflected two motor vehicle accident settlements and one jury verdict on a slip-and-fall accident, for a total of $12.2 million secured for the firm's clients. Interestingly enough, some of the firm's greatest successes have never made it to the PaLAW list, now in its 15th year.

"While we are proud to again have a presence on the Largest Awards & Settlements list, we take even greater pride in the hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements that are protected by confidentiality agreements," said Tom Duffy, the firm's founder. "Those awards will never get us headlines, but they will get our clients the necessary medical care and everyday needs to return to as normal a life as possible after a catastrophic injury."

The attorneys of Duffy + Partners work exclusively on behalf of the catastrophically injured and their families in the areas of medical malpractice, birth injury, construction accidents, product liability, automobile and trucking accidents, aircraft disasters, premises liability and maritime accidents.

The firm is entrusted with countless referrals of even the most complex of cases from colleagues, in part because of its strong resolve to bring every case to verdict, and because of its established record of client successes over the past twenty one years.

The cases cited on the PaLAW list were as follows:

  • Voce v. Sweeney, $6.5 million verdict
  • Mathis v. Exel, $3.75 million settlement
  • Eager v. Phillipsburg, $1.95 million settlement
