A five-week motor vehicle accident trial resulting in a $15.7 million verdict against a Toyota dealer was one of Pennsylvania's largest verdicts of 2013, according to the PaLaw Annual Report on the Legal Profession.
The Best Lawyers list is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which almost 50,000 leading attorneys cast nearly five million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas.
Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
The jury also awarded $4.3 million to five other plaintiffs in the case for a total finding of $15.7 million in liability against Central City Toyota, which maintained the car in which the doctor was injured.
The firm received a "Tier 1" ranking, which was the result of "a combination of clients' impressive feedback [and] the high regard that lawyers in other firms in the same practice area have" for the firm.
The firm had two awards cited in the "Top Pennsylvania Verdicts of 2012" report, as compiled by VerdictSearch and distributed by The Legal Intelligencer, the country’s oldest law journal.
