Tom Duffy to be Honored at Taliaferro Foundation 25th Anniversary Gala

(Philadelphia) – Tom Duffy, a renowned legal champion for catastrophic injury victims, will be honored at the 25th Anniversary Gala for the Adam Taliaferro Foundation on March 28, 2025 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. The event will bring together those individuals who have made the foundation’s mission possible over the past quarter of a century.
“Tom Duffy and his firm have been instrumental in helping the Adam Taliaferro Foundation fund needed equipment, home renovations and health services for patients,” said Ron Siggs, Senior Vice President of Development for Jefferson Moss Magee. “It is only natural that the firm be added to the ATF Honor Roll, which recognizes those who have worked to improve lives and have had a lasting impact on individuals who have incurred catastrophic injuries and illnesses.”
Founded in 2000, the Adam Taliaferro Foundation provides financial, emotional, and educational support to individuals in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware who have suffered life-altering spinal or head injuries. It also funds research, prevention efforts, and critical care initiatives for these conditions.
The foundation was inspired by the remarkable recovery of former Penn State cornerback Adam Taliaferro, who suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury during a game against Ohio State. Defying the odds, Taliaferro regained the ability to walk after months of intensive rehabilitation at Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. His journey became a beacon of hope for others facing similar challenges.
Given his lifelong dedication to advocating for those with catastrophic injuries, Duffy’s recognition by the foundation is a natural fit. For over 30 years, he has championed the cause of injury victims, leaving a promising career and partnership track at a large Philadelphia law firm in order to do so. Duffy has secured multiple 8-figure settlements and verdicts on behalf of clients, including the largest medical malpractice settlement in Pennsylvania history.
Beyond the courtroom, Duffy has devoted thousands of hours to charitable work. In 2023, he was the recipient of the prestigious Jefferson Moss-Magee Humanitarian Award, joining a distinguished group of past honorees who have contributed positively to the Philadelphia region and are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. He also oversees the Duffy Fellowship, which funds staff attorney positions at some of the most prominent legal service organizations in the City of Philadelphia.
